Whoopi Goldberg is on to something. She brought it up two days in a row on the View last week, but I am not certain anyone is listening. She was speaking of the Kindle technology offered by Amazon.com, which is a piece of technology that allows one to download newspapers, books, magazines onto it and it houses all of them. She believes that every child should have one with their textbooks loaded into it. Think of the impact when it comes to leveling the educational playing field: each child would have direct access to the most current textbook in any given subject, as well as to other resources that could be downloaded, i.e., reference books for term papers, etc. not to mention the ergonomic effect it would have for a child to not have to carry lots of heavy books, or to feel labeled socially as no one would know how many books you are carrying home to study. Now those of you who complain about the lack of quality in education, this is your opportunity to step up and support this concept, especially in this election year. This is one of many steps that must be taken to bring better quality and quantitative education to every child in this country. I am interested in seeing who would be against this technology being available to everyone and why. Then you will know who the real enemies are when it comes to changes the public education system sorely needs.
Because I don't think that those in power really want the broken educational system fixed. Thoughts?
